Writer Max Davis' debut sitcom, starring Romesh Ranganathan, kicks off Radio 2’s Comedy Showcase tonight. Parental Guidance centres around a couple living in Crawley with their two children. Roshan (Ranganathan) is a cost-benefits analyst for the airline industry, Kate (Amanda Abbington) is a stay-at-home mum. Roshan's overbearing mother, Anusha (Meera Syal), lives nearby and is constantly disappointed that her son didn't marry a Sri Lankan girl. Max is a regular contributor to BBC Radio with credits including The News Quiz, Dead Ringers and Spotlight Tonight with Nish Kumar. And he recently script edited BBC Radio 4’s Rashid Goes to Hollywood. The pilot airs on BBC Radio 2 at 10.30pm and will be available online shortly after broadcast.
